Run Like The Wind

"I'll go in and get your phone, Grandma. I can run like the wind." Her hair bounces from side to side and the golden curls reflect sunlight as she runs up the sidewalk toward the house. And she does, run like the wind. She is growing up so very quickly. I love her so much. ♥

Recording Contract

TJei: "Grandma, can you get me a recording contract?"

Grandma: "hahahaha"

Seriously, this little girl is way beyond her years!

Middle Of Nowhere

Yesterday we went for  a ride up on the mountain and the girls were loving the freedom of being unbelted and having the windows down as we traveled along remote roadways. I think, in total, we did encounter maybe five or six other vehicles. :) Love it!!!

We did encounter a bit of wildlife although most of the animals we saw were cattle. They may be hard to spot in this picture but there are a couple elk at the edge of the trees, almost in the center of the picture. The girls were so excited! Their squeals sent the elk scurrying in a hurry.

There are some geese flying just above the water surface and the girls are simply entranced by "the big birds" over there. :) We stopped for a potty break near the fish cleaning station...just after seeing a couple deer near the campground, and they were so excited about the area.

Mia wasn't too thrilled at sharing "her" big rock with older sister TJei. After all, she found one without snakes. :)

TJei decided to pull out a map...she learned that on Dora the Explorer...to figure out where we were on the mountain. After a good deal of chatter to get herself oriented, "Here's the cows in the road" and "There's the boat in the water" she proudly declared, "Grandpa, we're in the middle of nowhere!"'

Seriously, this girl is so cute. And, that's a map of Lake Powell she's checking out. :)

Phone Number

Jodie: "TJei hang up the phone."

TJei: "I need to call SRP, do you have the phone number?"

Jodie: "What do you need to call SRP for?" (Grandpa was at work, maybe to talk with him?)

TJei: "I need a job. I want to work at SRP."

In Your Face

TJei and Mia were looking through some pictures I'd left laying on the scanner. Suddenly, the two of them are arguing...loudly.

M: "Dat's Unco Jacob"

T: "That's Grandpa!"

M: "Dat's Unco Jacob!"

T: "Mommy, who is that? That's Grandpa, isn't it?"

M: "Dat's Unco Jacob!!!"

J (laughing at T): "That's Uncle Jacob."

M: "See, dat's Unco Jacob!"

T: "What? Let me see that. Grandma, who is in this picture? That's Grandpa, huh?"

G: "Yes, TJei, that's Grandpa."

J (grabbing picture): "What? Is that really? That looks like Jacob. Oh, it is Grandpa."

T (shuffling around and stirring her hands): "Uh, huh. In your face. That's Grandpa. Uh huh"

Black Road

Mike and TJei went for a ride today, offroad. They cruised around on backroads behind Lyman Lake and spent quite a bit of time out there exploring. Eventually, TJei turned and asked, "Grandpa, can we go back to the black road now?"

Laptop

"Grandma, when you get done with your laptop, can I use it? I have a lot of stuff to upload."

Seriously, that's what TJei told me a few minutes ago. :)

Then, after accessing her blog page to "sign in" and going to the new post page, she calls out, "Hey, what happened to my dot com?"

A Few More Things

Mike and I drove to Flagstaff yesterday and a portion of our conversation included laughing about things TJei has said. Driving along the Interstate, Mike suddenly broke into laughter and recounted the following...

"TJei said to me, Grandpa, Grandma can...you can, too!" and he laughed while explaining he had let go of the steering wheel to scratch his ears. TJei had excitedly proclaimed, "Grandma can drive without holding the spinning wheel and you can too!" Maybe she's had too many renditions of Princess Aurora's birthday dilemma.

As the sun lowered in the sky and an antelope stood in the road on the drive between Holbrook and St. Johns, we were reminded of another funny from TJei. We had been driving back from Show Low and had seen several antelope gazing along the rolling hills just west of town. Suddenly, TJei squealed out. She was the first to see one of the beautiful animals come into view, "There's a cantaloupe! I saw it first." Recalling the excitement and miswording still brings a smile. :)

Kindergarten Program

Along with the musical program, the kindergarteners demonstrated a couple dance routines. Cayden is TJei's partner for the square dance...Wes was just to her right, her "turn to the corner" partner. That made her smile. :)


The little ones also made a Mother's Day gift using one of their old shoes.


The program conclussion...

After the program, Grandma returned to the school again to have lunch with TJei. She shared her carrots with grandma and grandma shared her bean burro (with cheese) with TJei.

He Made an Impression

It was really tough to maintain composure when this little ditty came forth from TJei. :)

Things She Says

Okay, it's way beyond time to have a new label category on here. TJei says some of the cutest...and some of the oddest...things at times. So much of it is gone, just because we didn't make notes at the time. :(

As she walked into my office, "I'm here for my paycheck. Can I have my paycheck now?"

As she slaps her hands together and onto her thighs singing the tune We Will Rock You, her little hand goes into the air and she calls out, "Okay, Grandma, take it from here!"

I ask, "TJei, why do you still have your church dress on?" She replies, "I want to be like you, Grandma."
